Another fan favorite is Charizard. Nearly everyone I knew picked Charmander as their starter in Pokémon Red or Pokémon Blue because the end result was the badass fire/flying Charizard, no he’s not a dragon!
Charizard is the final form of the Pokémon Charmander, with Charmeleon as the middle evolution. Charmander must be leveled up to 16 to evolve into Charmeleon, then Charmeleon must be leveled up to 36 to evolve into Charizard. Charizard was introduced in the first generation, and it’s initial form, Charmander, is the fire starter for versions Red, Blue, (Green for Japan), FireRed, and LeafGreen. Charizard is known as the Flame Pokémon.
Charizard is a powerful Pokémon with moves like Fire Blast, Flamethrower, and Heat Wave. Charizard is very weak to water type, electric type, and especially rock type. Charizard usage has dropped in competitive play since the implementation of stealth rock, which is a rock type entry hazard move that will take Charizard’s health down to 50% no matter what because of Charizard’s typing of fire/flying.
Charizard are competitive Pokémon that will never back down from a fight, and will always give it their best in a battle. The competitiveness of Charizard can ruin friendships, however. Charizard are thought to be carnivorous, but will settle for the omnivorous diet that most Pokémon have. There has always been a misunderstanding about Charizard (and it’s line) and it’s flame on the end of it’s tail. Many think that if the flame is doused with a liquid and goes out that Charizard dies, but what actually happens is that if Charizard dies then the flame goes out.
And that’s the Pokémon of the week! Here’s a great realistic drawing from Deviantart from artist =Ruth- Tay. All credit goes to them.
