NFL Week 10 Results: Makin’ Moves

Here is my master list of predictions on the 2013 NFL Seasonhere is Andrew’s master list.

Week 10 of the 2013 NFL season has ended and it appears that the playoff picture is starting to clear up, though the way the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts played this week do they really deserve to make the playoffs?

Yes of course those two teams deserve to make the playoffs if their records warrant it; that’s a stupid question, but it’s a question I saw frequently on message boards, forums, and reddit. If your record qualifies you for the playoffs, you deserve it because you won the games on your schedule. Nothing else to it, really. Whichever team actually decides to win the NFC East also deserves to be in because that team will have done what they have to do to get into the playoffs.

Fans are too emotional after losses, especially after a two game losing streak (Bengals). There are plenty of weeks left in the season to regroup and become the teams that they were earlier in the season. My message to fans (not including fans of JAX, OAK, TB, HOU, ATL, BUF, PIT, and MIN): relax, we have plenty of football to go and your team likely has a semi chance to make the playoffs.

Now let’s see if I can gain any traction on Andrew, but my gut feeling says I didn’t gain any ground – like usual.

Remember green is correct; red is incorrect. Purple is a tie (there were no ties this week, just making sure you are paying attention.)

Teams on their ‘Bye’ week: Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Jets

Here are my prediction results:

Thursday, Nov. 7

Redskins @ Vikings — 8:25 p.m. Vikings 20 Redskins 14

Sunday, Nov. 10

Bengals @ Ravens — 1 p.m. Bengals 24 Ravens 13
Lions @ Bears — 1 p.m. Lions 21 Bears 16
Eagles @ Packers — 1 p.m. Packers 30 Eagles 12
Rams @ Colts — 1 p.m. Colts 28 Rams 18
Seahawks @ Falcons — 1 p.m. Seahawks 22 Falcons 21
Raiders @ Giants — 1 p.m. Giants 38 Raiders 7
Jaguars @ Titans — 1 p.m. Jaguars 13 Titans 10
Bills @ Steeelers — 1 p.m. Steelers 17 Bills 10
Panthers @ 49ers — 4:05 p.m. 49ers 20 Panthers 10
Texans @ Cardinals — 4:25 p.m. Cardinals 31 Texans 20
Broncos @ Chargers — 4:25 p.m. Broncos 35 Chargers 17
Cowboys @ Saints — 8:30 p.m. Saints 34 Cowboys 31

Monday, Nov. 11

Dolphins @ Buccaneers  8:40 p.m. Dolphins 27 Buccaneers 21

Week 10 Record: 9-5

Season Record: 82-65

Not too shabby. Staying very consistent the past few weeks, which has always been difficult with predictions being made before a season even began.

Week 10 Record: 7-7

Season Record: 89-58

Wow! We both called the Jacksonville Jaguars winning this week, though I am almost certain each of us predicted the Jaguars to win a game or two earlier in the year as well. And I did gain ground for once this week! Woohoo! Still I am seven games back, but gaining two games will help tremendously in this stretch run.

Results Of Week 1 Of The NFL: How Bad Did I Do With Predictions?

So as you know I predicted the entire NFL season about a week ago, and every week I will post the results prior to the beginning of the next week to keep track of how well, or how horrible, I did that week. I will keep season totals at the bottom.

I will include my friend Andrew’s results after my own; here is his entire NFL season prediction.

Green is correct; Red is incorrect. The scores really don’t matter, but if I happen to ever get one perfectly correct I will let you know (because you probably care so much about that!).

WEEK 1

Thursday, Sept. 5
Ravens at Broncos – 8:30 p.m. ET Broncos 31 Ravens 17

Texans @ Chargers – 10:20 p.m. Texans 38 Chargers 18

Week 1 (season) record: 10 – 6

Not too shabby! Really thought the Bengals would win their game, and really thought the Jets would be terrible (I have them having a 0-16 record – already wrong!).
